BJP’s Election Manifesto 2024 Criticized by Opposition Parties

The release of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’ with the tagline ‘Modi’s Guarantee 2024’, has sparked criticism from various opposition leaders. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari led the charge, highlighting what they perceive as unfulfilled promises and failures of the ruling party.

Kharge, in his scathing remarks, pointed out that the BJP has not delivered substantial benefits to the youth and farmers as promised during its tenure. He expressed doubt in the credibility of the BJP’s manifesto, calling it untrustworthy. He particularly emphasized the lack of job opportunities for the youth and rising inflation under the BJP’s governance.

Jitendra Patwari echoed similar sentiments, labeling ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ as ‘Jhooth ki Guarantee’ (Guarantee of Lies). He accused the BJP of weakening constitutional values and failing to address critical issues such as unemployment, inflation, and farmers’ distress effectively.

AAP leader Atishi joined the chorus, dubbing the BJP’s manifesto as ‘Jumla Patra’ (Manifesto of False Promises). She criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises over the past decade, especially regarding job creation and healthcare initiatives like Ayushman Bharat.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav also criticized the BJP’s manifesto, pointing out the absence of concrete plans for youth, farmers, and economically backward states like Bihar. He highlighted the need for addressing unemployment, poverty alleviation, and economic disparities in the country.

The BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ aims at women’s empowerment, youth development, agricultural reforms, and economic prosperity. However, the opposition’s critique underscores a growing skepticism among political rivals regarding the BJP’s ability to deliver on its manifesto promises and address pressing issues affecting the nation.
